Emily Gravett ~ Author Spotlight

English author Emily Gravett has written and illustrated more than two dozen books. Her stories are
Odd Egg

whimsical, clever and thoroughly entertaining.  Her illustrations jump off the page and offer humour for both the young and old.

In Odd Egg, Duck is left without an egg to sit so she hunts and finds an Odd Egg with green spots.  While the eggs of other birds are hatching, Duck patiently waits to see what hatches from her egg. What will it be?

Meerkat Mail is told through the eyes of Sunny the meerkat.  Sunny decides his house is too crowded and sets off on an adventure to find the perfect home.  His search leads him through a marsh, a rainforest and a farm.  While visiting his relatives, Sunny writes postcards home to his parents.  The cover is designed as a parcel and the travel theme is skillfully detailed throughout the book.

My favourite Emily Gravett book is The Rabbit Problem. It is written in the style of a calendar where
each month the rabbits face another problem. Find out how their problems are solved (or not).

Be sure to check out Emily Gravett books in the K-3 section.
